Monday 11th November 2013 marks the beginning of National SES Week which is a special time set aside for the Australian community to honour and celebrate the tireless voluntary work undertaken by the members of our State Emergency Service.
In Western Australia we are fortunate enough to have 2024 male and female SES volunteers who are spread across the state in 65 different locations. These members form an integral part of the Department’s emergency services response teams and spend many, many hours undertaking their role in order to keep our communities safe.
Wednesday 13 November is Wear Orange to Work (WOW) day across the country and DFES is encouraging staff to show their support and help celebrate the SES by wearing something orange (source: DFES Extranet website)
